Ms. Fawzia Koofi, Member of Parliament, noted that the Moscow Talks was unprecedented. She added that the Taliban view towards women has changed. In their view, women can pursue political, social and cultural activities. However, these activities must be under the rules of Sharia Law.
Wahid Mojdeh, Political Analyst was optimistic about Moscow Talks saying that this was the first time that Afghanistan’s prominent political figures came together under one roof with the Taliban to discuss important issues. But, he added, that the Taliban have realized that monopolizing power only leads to conflict and destruction of Afghanistan, therefore, all political groups and parties should have a share in power.
Bashir Ahmad Qasani, who attended Moscow Talks as a Journalist, says that Moscow intended to show its power that they also have the capacity to organize such events. He added that Taliban, contrary to Afghan delegation, were unified and cohesive in their stance.
