January 31, 2019
AISS regional office in Herat celebrated the International inter-religion dialogue day. A number academicians, civil activists, political activists, clergies, University students and media activists participated the event.
Political activists and religious scholars, Mr. Ab Hadi Wasiqi and Mr. Tariq Nabi delivered remarks on “the effect of inter-religious dialogue on the Dogmatism and its removal” and “ the historical background of the inter-religious dialogue in the Khorasan civilization with a focus on Herat”.
Mr. Nabi said that in the history of this civilization, an inter-religion dialogue was weak and with a wrong definition of dialogue, they wanted to impose their ideas on others and did not have tolerance towards each other. But Herat as a metropolitan city of this civilization, was a good ground of peaceful co-existence between some religions like Islam, Zoroastrianism, Christianity and Judaism.
Mr. Wasiqi emphasized on the religious intolerance and the role of religions on its expansion among the people. He also spoke about some countries that have important role on expansion of religious intolerance and continued with pointing out the ways on decreasing it. The program ended with the Q&A session of the audience.
