Launch Ceremony of Collection of Essays of Herat School of Security-I
Today, AISS launched the first series of essays of the first International Symposium of Herat School of Security in its Herat regional office. Distinguished government officials, members of civil society, experts, academia and media participated in the event.
Zalmay Mallyar, lecturer at Herat University, Dr. Mohammad Arif Fasihy, also university lecturer, were the speakers of the event, with moderation by journalist, Said Hassan Hussaini.
At first, Zalmay Mallyar briefly discussed the essays presented at the second International Symposium of Herat School of Security. He also briefly presented his researched paper that was presented in the symposium in Kabul. He also discussed about the role of mosques and religious institution as the largest social platforms to promote tolerance.
At the end, Dr. Fasihy Dawlatshahi discussed re-evaluating security studies. He said that it is crucial for Afghanistan, which is in transition, to conduct more studies in the field of security. He also said that in the past, government was the source of security, however, today every person in the society is an organization of security.
The program ended with a Q&A discussion with the audience.
