On Thursday September 21, 2017, the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) held a celebration honoring the appointment of AISS research fellow, Mr. Tamim Asey, as the Deputy Defense Minister of the GIRoA. This event was attended by a number of foreign military attachés based in Kabul and military officials from the Ministry of Defense. During the event, the AISS Director General recognized Mr. Asey's tireless efforts for his country and countrymen, his rich international experience and his vision of a bright future for Afghanistan. Mr. Asey thanked AISS for holding the event. The event was hosted in a friendly environment where participants also exchanged views on current political affairs.
