The participants of first AISS co-organized Afghanistan-China-Pakistan trilateral meeting met with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister, Mr Zhai Jun in Beijing. The Chinese official expressed his government full support to the objectives of the trilateral process and wished for the further expansion of the process. He described Pakistan and Afghanistan as China’s “close and friendly neighbours” and assured the Afghan and Pakistani delegations of Beijing’s “determination to increase its engagement with its western neighbours”. The Afghan and Pakistani ambassadors to People’s Republic of China also attended the meeting.
