On Thursday September 13, 2013, the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) hosted the launching ceremony for General Abdul Qadir’s personal memoir, “Political Memories of General Abdul Qadir in Conversation with Dr. Parwiz Arezo.”

Dr. Davood Moradian, AISS director, made the opening remarks, and a discussion panel followed.

Parwiz Kawa, Editor in Chief of Hasht-e-Subh Daily Newspaper, led the discussion panel consisting of the author and critics Abdul Hafeez Mansoon and Khalil Roman.

Kawa also took questions from the audience.The discussion became heated at times, but the atmosphere was overall lighthearted.A reception followed. Parts of the discussion involving Qadir’s book continued while guests enjoyed food and a small concert.
