Summary
Ambassador Amar Sinha is a career diplomat who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1982 after earning his Economics degree from Patna University. Before his diplomatic career, he worked at the State Bank of India. His 35-year service includes postings in Algiers, Buenos Aires, Washington DC, Jakarta, and Brussels. He served as Ambassador to Tajikistan (2007-2010) and Afghanistan (2013-2017). After retiring in 2017, he joined the National Security Advisory Board and currently works with various think tanks like the Vivekananda Foundation.
