Cultural Evening of HSD12: From Khorasan to Andalusia

The Herat Security Dialogue was held on Monday, February 24, 2025 in Madrid, Spain. Alongside discussions about Afghanistan and conversations about war and politics, another part of the conference featured a blend of music from two distinct worlds - from Khorasan to Andalusia.

At the start of the conference, Fahimeh Mirzaei, with her Samā dance performance, invited guests into the world of indigenous art and Suf tradition. Shortly afterward, Shuhra Wakili performed the patriotic song “Vatan Eshgh To Eftekharam,” and later, she sang the folk song “Midānam Laili Jan,” taking the audience to a journey from Andalusia to Khorasan.

During the cultural evening of the event, the Jeyhoon band, under the title “From Khorasan to Andalusia,” presented live performances by a mix of artists from Afghanistan and Spain. These performances, merging various voices and rhythms, served as a bridge connecting two cultures and showcased the artistic unity between the lands of Khorasan and Andalusia.

This segment of the international Herat Security Dialogue offered an opportunity for artistic and cultural elements to be presented in an international setting, alongside talks on security and politics, and brought to life the human and cultural dimensions of the changes in Afghanistan.
