AISS releases “Corruption mapping in Afghanistan” survey outcomes in Herat & Mazar-e-Sharif


The Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) organized launching ceremony to release, its recent published report, “Corruption mapping in Afghanistan” survey outcomes in the Western and northern city of Herat and Mazar-e-Sharif. The press conferences took place on Monday 24th in Herat and on Wednesday 26th August 2015, in Mazar-e-Sharif, which brought together local authorities, provincial council members, civil society organizations, Professors, university students and journalists.

The regional representative of AISS in Mazar-e-Sharif – Mr Ahmad Ferozpur remarked that the “Corruption Mapping in Afghanistan” Report published by AISS is free from any political interference, regional and ethnic bias – making a clear picture for statesmen, partner institutions and the international community to fight against the undesirable phenomenon of corruption in Afghanistan is the only aim of publishing this report.

Expressing his views, the regional representative of AISS in Herat – Mr Yama Salek said that the corruption can be reduced in Afghanistan only by making people aware about the ramifications of corruption. He further said that the anti-corruption institutions must coordinate with each other in order to help Afghan people to overcome this problem.
